Children
Together, having fun, laughing and learning about Jesus
On Sundays, we enjoy being together as one big family for the first 20 minutes of the service before the children go into the hall at the back of the church for fellowship, fun and teaching. We ask parents and carers to complete a registration form for their children which includes details of any allergies, needs or requirements they may have.
The children are split into age - appropriate groups: Star Shine 0-3yrs; Moon Shine 3-6yrs; and Sun Shine 7-10yrs.
There is a different story from the Bible to study each week at their own level. The children read from the Bible, pray together, do craft, play games and have time chatting about their week. Once a term there is prayer and prophesy with different prayer stations and listening to what God is saying. Children's worship is also included.
On Monday mornings between 10am-11.30am, there is the Arise and Shine Toddler Group in the church for those from birth to 4yrs. This is a toddler group where parents / carers can socialise with their children and other adults in a relaxed and friendly setting. The session starts with free play and a craft activity with tea and coffee for the adults. Very popular! We have a snack time of fruit and bread sticks followed by more playing, and then tidying up for song time to finish. Admission is £1.50 for first child and 50p for other siblings.
On Thursday afternoons between 4pm-5.30pm, there is the Shine Activity Club in the church. The children are dropped off by their parents. There are lots of crafts, oodles of games, food and a Christian message for primary school aged children (4-11yrs). Admission is £1 per child.
All volunteer leaders / helpers are DBS checked and have adopted the Safeguarding Policy of Christ Church Exmouth
